The award-winning 9 White Deer Brewery - based in the Muskerry Gaeltacht near Baile Bhuirne, West Cork - needed to scale their business so they could capitalise on new opportunities and ensure continued commercial success. For support navigating their scaling needs, 9 White Deer Brewery turned to Taste4Success Skillnet, which drives the training and upskilling needs of the Irish food, beverage, marine and agri-food sectors, some of Ireland's largest indigenous economies.
Taste4Success Skillnet developed a tailored training plan that was specific to 9 White Deer Brewery's business requirements and the upskilling needs of their team. Initially, the team needed to know more about the intricacies of the brewing business, and completed a number of certified micro-brewery training programmes. 9 White Deer Brewery's collaboration with the Taste4Success Skillnet has led to further engagment with its upskilling programmes, including a Diploma in Food Manufacturing that was jointly delivered with University College Cork (UCC).
Taste4Success Skillnet structures its programmes around the needs of individual businesses, making the courses flexible, relevant and highly effective in supporting the growth of indigenous SMEs.
